Everyone’s Obsessed with Labubu. Here’s Why I’m Not Following That Trend

If you’ve been anywhere near the world of collectibles or TikTok trends lately, you’ve probably seen them - Labubu's. Tiny, wide-eyed, and wildly popular, these vinyl toys sell out in seconds and spark endless unboxing videos, swaps, and resale bidding wars. At first glance, they couldn’t be further from what I do at CH Design.
And yet, they got me thinking.
There’s something fascinating about how we form emotional attachments to small, handcrafted things. Whether it’s a limited-edition toy or a one of a kind pair of earrings, we’re drawn to objects that feel rare, personal, and a little magical. We want to hold on to something that no one else has. Something that reflects who we are.
But here’s the difference.
Labubu thrives on mystery boxes, mass production, and short-term excitement. CH Design stands for something slower, deeper, and more intentional. Where Labubu is about the thrill of the chase, I’m more about the quiet satisfaction of a meaningful find. Every CH piece is made by hand with real flowers that were carefully chosen, preserved, and turned into something timeless. There are no duplicates. No restocks. Just one pair, one necklace, one moment.
Labubu is playfully chaotic. CH Design is calm, grounded, and rooted in nature.
I think there’s space for both. One gives you a rush. The other gives you presence.
So while I probably won’t be launching any mystery boxes or collectibles anytime soon, I do understand the joy of finding something that feels like it was made just for you. At CH Design, that’s exactly what I try to offer. A one of a kind piece you’ll reach for again and again. Not because it’s trendy, but because it means something to you.
And honestly? That’s the kind of treasure I’ll always chase.
